The Places You Love Alliance is a collective of partner organisations dedicated to speaking up for strong nature laws.
The information we collect can be split into two categories; the anonymised analytics information we record when you visit the site, and the information you provide when you interact with the website by filling in a form (like the contact form or adding your name to an open letter).
For site visitors who use a form on our website, we store the personal information they provide for the duration of that initiative. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
Our website has a simple analytics tool that gives us basic insights into behaviour on the website.
This includes things like what led a visitor to the site, what system a user has visited the site with, how long a visitor stays on the site and which pages were visited.
All of the information recorded stays on the site, we do not use a third party tool like Google Analytics that shares user behaviour. You can learn more about the Burst privacy-friendly on-site analytics tool on their website.
The Resources page on our site includes embedded content hosted on a shared Google Drive. Embedded content behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the Google site directly. You can learn more about how Google secures that information here.
They collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
The Places You Love Alliance does not use tracking or session cookies. The only cookies from this website are those from the embedded material from Google as outlined above.
Australia does not yet have a legislated ‘right to be forgotten‘ or other strong privacy protections that exist in other jurisdictions like the European Union. Regardless, the Places You Love Alliance is committed to privacy best practice; you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you at any time. This can not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you wish to view, alter, or have the information you entered deleted, let us know via the contact form and include the email address you provided, and we will manually erase it.
The only information we share is the details that signatories of our open letters have provided, which is then only sent to the targeted recipients of the open letters. What they then do with any information is bound by Australian privacy law.
We do not use a third party program like Google Analytics to monitor your behaviour on the site, nor do we use an external platform for our forms or email notifications. All of our data is stored on a secure server from a reputable Australian vendor.
