A thriving environment is at the centre of healthy land, businesses and communities in this country.
Yet in Australia we know the environment is not what it used to be.
Responding to this decline, Australia needs strong national nature laws and an ongoing commitment from the Australian Government to make this happen.
The Australian Government has introduced the Nature Positive Bills of 2024 which will establish new institutions to administer and enforce Australia’s environmental laws. It is critical that the full package of reforms, beyond establishing new institutions, is delivered to achieve effective and strong nature laws. The critical measure of success is evidence showing nature on a trajectory of improvement and restoration.
Hundreds of people have shown their support for nature already.
